Simply Epic partner Bill Ross is a fully qualified Tutor for both British Cycling and Cycling Scotland, providing BC Level 2 Mountain Bike Leadership training and assessment and a range of Cycling Scotland Leadership and Cycle Trainer courses. The British Cycling Nationally recognised Training Award will allow you to gain the qualification of UK Mountain Bike Leadership Level 2 award providing candidates with the knowledge and skills necessary to lead groups of mountain bikers in particular terrain. Bill runs the Level 2 courses mainly from Auchengillen Scouting Centre and Kirkintilloch near, Glasgow, but he can also run this 2 day course at a suitable venue of your choice. Bill will run either closed courses, specifically for one organisation or an open course where participants can join from different locations and organisations.
After qualification Level 2 Mountain Bike Leaders can operate in terrain that:-
- is rideable at walking speed
- is rollable on descents so that wheels are not required to leave the ground.
- has an obvious line choice
- is 90% rideable by the entire group
- is no more than half an hour walk from where an ambulance can get to.
Location
All our training courses are based around the excellent trails of Mugdock Country Park (north side of Glasgow) or Cathkin Braes (south side of Glasgow) or Callander estates (Falkirk)

Night Riding and Expedition Leader Modules
Bill is also able to deliver training and assessment for the night riding and expedition (overnight) modules. However,currently these modules are being re-written so speak with Bill to see what can be done to meet your needs.
